Q. How is BBC Worldwide different from the BBC?

A. BBC Worldwide is wholly-owned by the BBC, but is financially separate. It exists to distribute, market and broadcast BBC content around the world. It is a commercial company which brings in revenue to supplement the licence fee paid annually by British television households. Unlike the rest of the BBC, BBC Worldwide is self-funding; it receives no money from the licence fee.

Q. Where can I watch BBC content on television?

A. BBC Worldwide distributes content to all Australian and New Zealand free-to-air networks and to most subscription platforms. The largest presence is via its Australian-managed network of subscription channels: UKTV, BBC Knowledge, CBeebies and BBC World News, and on national broadcaster ABC TV. Other major platforms are the Nine Network (Top Gear, Antiques Roadshow) and Channel Seven, which is the home of BBC Worldwide’s biggest global format Dancing with the Stars.
