Originating in Australia, Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular came to life at Sydney’s Acer Arena in January 2007. Based on the Emmy award-winning BBC Television Series, and after a successful North American tour in 2014, Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular returned to Australia and New Zealand for a strictly limited tour in 2015. Since it's original tour in 2007, it has been seen by over 8 million people in 243 cities around the world.
It took a talented team of 50 – including engineers, fabricators, skin makers, artists, painters, and animatronic experts a year to build the original production, which includes ten different species from the 200 million year reign of the dinosaurs. Tyrannosaurus Rex, the terror of the ancient terrain along with the Plateosaurus and Liliensternus from the Triassic period. The Stegosaurus and Allosaurus from the Jurassic period and from the awesome Cretaceous, the Torosaurus and Utahraptor. Then the largest of them all, the Brachiosaurus, which stands at 36 feet tall, and an awe-inspiring 56 feet, from nose to tail. All these species and more make “a thundering comeback after 65 million years.“ The New York Times.
