About White Dragon

White Dragon is a conspiracy thriller created by screenwriting newcomers Mark Denton & Jonny Stockwood. The series begins when Professor Jonah Mulray’s life is turned upside-down. Jonah discovers his wife, Megan, is killed in a car-crash in Hong Kong. Although she lived and worked there half the year, Jonah’s never been. He lives a small, sheltered life, and his fear of flying has kept him in London. But now he has no choice but to cross the ocean to identify the body of the woman he loved.

As Jonah makes his way through the labyrinthine city for the first time, Xo International looms large in the background. There are protesters in the street railing against the luxury flats that Xiaodong Xo is building on land that was intended for affordable housing. If property is Hong Kong’s most precious jewel, then Xo is what you’d call Hong Kong’s property king. As a candidate for Hong Kong’s Chief Executive election, Xo is certainly not a man who represents the many.

Not long after arriving, Jonah makes a shocking discovery about his wife – she was married to another man. Over the course of eight thrilling hours, Jonah and David Chen are drawn deeper and deeper into a web of conspiracy. Together the two men are forced to reconcile with each other, as the truth about Megan becomes too great and unwieldy for either to handle on their own. Megan didn’t die in an accident – she was killed.

At the heart of the show are Jonah and David. Jonah Mulray is a cautious, mild-mannered professor. In many ways he is the polar opposite of David Chen - a single-minded ex-cop with an impulsive and at times violent streak. After David confirms Jonah’s suspicions that Megan was murdered, these two will be fused together as they search for answers, both are fundamentally trying to understand what kind of marriage they had with Megan. Which one of them did she really love? Did their relationships with her amount to anything more than a lie?
